Web Hosting Vista - ISS 7?

Please forgive me if I don%26#039;t answer your question directly; It may be just my opinion, but IIS in general and IIS 7 in particular are quite convoluted, clumsy and insecure products.

I have no pre-concieved bias against Microsoft products, but I%26#039;ve worked with companies that used IIS in production systems. Despite all warnings they got hosed badly when security holes were discovered and exploited.

Vista access-control annoyances make things even worse, without solving any real problems.

As an alternative, I suggest considering XAMPP, which is user-friendly bundle of Apache and other goodies, that takes care of most installation and configuration issues. Also, setting virtual servers for Apache is well-documented and established procedure.
